November 2021 General Election Timeline


NOVEMBER 2021 GENERAL ELECTION TIMELINE

Scarsdale residents will vote in the Westchester County-wide races for Westchester County Clerk, Westchester County Executive, Westchester County Legislator District 5, and NY Supreme Court Justice for the 9th Judicial District, as well as on five New York State ballot proposals. Visit the LWV of Westchester website for information concerning plans to host candidate forums for certain contested races. Details on local races or proposals that may be on your ballot can be found at vote411.org, a website maintained by the League of Women Voters to provide nonpartisan, election-related information.

Friday, October 8, 2021:  Last day to register to vote in person or to postmark your voter registration form (registration form must be received by Wednesday, October 13, 2021). 

Absentee Ballot Information

All New York State voters may still apply to vote by absentee ballot using the temporary illness clause, which now includes being unable to appear due to risk of contracting or spreading a communicable disease like COVID-19.

Monday, October 18, 2021: Last day to postmark an application for absentee ballot by mail or submit an application via email, fax, or electronically through the New York State Absentee Ballot Application Portal.  See the Westchester Board of Elections website for additional details.

Monday, November 1, 2021:  Last day to apply in person at the Westchester Board of Elections for an absentee ballot.

Tuesday, November 2, 2021: Last day to postmark a completed absentee ballot (must be received by November 9, 2021) or to submit an absentee ballot in person to the Westchester Board of Elections.

In Person Voting

Saturday, October 23, 2021 through Sunday, October 31, 2021: Early voting at any of the 23 early primary voting polling locations and times in Westchester County.   

Tuesday, November 2, 2021 (General Election Day): In person voting only at your assigned polling location.
